Paula brings a wealth of teaching experience and fitness and anatomy/physiology knowledge to Dwell Yoga. She received her bachelor of science degree in Health and Physical Education from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and taught a variety of fitness and aerobic classes early in her career.

Paula was a pioneer in bringing yoga to East Texas over 20 years ago. At that time, she began a home practice watching yoga video as there weren’t any classes in her city at the time. She began incorporating the elements of asanas and breath work into the fitness classes she taught at her local health club. Later, in 1997 she traveled to Dallas to receive her initial RYT certification.

After owning and operating her own studio, Barefoot Fitness Yoga Studio for three years, she was offered the position of Mind Body Coordinator at the Good Shepherd Institute for Healthy Living in Longview, where she supervised the Yoga and Pilates department. While there, she continued her yoga education and earned her 500-hour RYT certification as well as a Pilates Reformer certification.

Upon retirement in 2016, she moved to Frisco to be closer to her family. She attends Christ Church in Plano, TX where she is active in women’s bible studies and serves as a Sunday greeter. She continues to teach yoga and Pilates classes to the senior population at Frisco Lakes community. She is very happy to join Dwell Yoga where she will teach yoga as well as offer private Pilates Reformer sessions.
